To fulfill the great commission by reaching out to those with needs

who would not normally be in a church setting.

We will accomplish this by:

Acknowledging our reliance on Jesus Christ giving Him all Glory

A desire to be like Jesus Christ

Being Salt and Light in the world

Playing our music with excellence to give Him Praise and Honor

We seek His direction in all we do and will serve as He directs us.

During a Purpose Driven Life Bible study in early 2004, the Lord spoke to Elliott and led him to dedicate his music and the rest of his life to God.   Elliott had been performing regularly with some very accomplished musicians for the past twelve years, but he was shown that the Lord had other plans for Soul Serenade.

Elliott felt an urgency to spread the Gospel…to go beyond church walls as a light in the darkness.  Sherry’s talents consisted of managing and promoting the band, a role she has filled since she met Elliott in 1988.

Elliott Fikes and Soul Serenade share in their desire to Glorify God through their music…whether it is in a secular setting, or in a church setting leading worship.  Their worship style may be unusual for some…but their hearts are worshipful and thankful for their talents, and it is their desire to use their God-given talents to honor Him.

The group prayerfully seeks His direction in choosing their venues.  While the band is still “for profit” when providing entertainment at weddings, festivals, and private parties, they also perform at churches and charities at no charge.  They will accept His blessing through love offerings or donations when performing in churches.

The past two years, the group has been working on a Christian CD that is finally complete.  You may purchase on line.
